It’s easy to get complacent in life – to let the same old things happen every day – to get stuck in a pattern of behavior that while maybe not bad is not as productive as it might be if we truly and deeply appreciated every opportunity in front of us. Some of you may have noticed I have been missing the last week or so. One of my daughters arrived home last week to say she had sidestepped a large rattlesnake coming in our front door. Immediately, I went into ‘superman” mode and proceeded to look for the snake. Well, I found the snake in the hedge or it found me; either way it bit me on my right index finger. Oddly enough, I had been bitten before on my left big toe when I was 3. That meant a probable allergic reaction to anti-venom and treatment complications. To make a fat story thin, 5 days later and I am out of the hospital. Here is a link to how my finger looks currently (click on the link if you can handle it). RATTLESNAKE BITE ON MY TRADING FINGER.
I so appreciate all that my family and friends have done for me. Maybe I needed this reminder about how much others matter and what is really important in life. A reminder that i is not so much how many days we get to live but instead how much benefit and meaning we get out of each moment we draw another breath.
I see the charts anew this morning – new promise in each candle is tempered by the patience to wait for but expect that beautiful moment when things are right to trade. Just like with my family, I so appreciate every tick I am given.
We shouldn’t have to get snake bit in life or in the markets to make each moment matter!
Great Living and Trading to You!
